Community. Consciousness. Celebration.
The alliteration is nice, but what does this mean? Read on.
Community
Our Mission is to literally create a sanctuary for our members. Our members are our community. A community doesn’t have to be geographically contiguous; it can be one of spirit, of like values and goals. A community may assemble in times of need or crisis. Or a membership community may gather for the sharing of knowledge, trade of goods and services, and to celebrate life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Consciousness
Consciousness to us means being mindful and awake, thinking rationally and for oneself. To pursue the truth above all, wherever it leads. To achieve this, the core of Sanctuary at Futura Farms is religion or faith, our Church. The answers to the most basic questions of the human condition form our belief system, which informs what we should do and why. Unfortunately, we don’t all answer those questions the same way, which causes us to remain separate and even kill each other over our differences. Yet with the dwindling of religion from modern life, we are experiencing a void of morality and purpose. Those in power have turned endless war and ill health into our new reality. Cashing in on all of us to become increasingly rich while slowly disassembling our basic rights and freedoms. I can’t believe we now live in an age where doctors who state facts and evidence that contradicts the lies told by crooked government/corporate profiteers are labeled as “misinformation” spreaders. Censorship is now acceptable? Freedom of speech retractable? Lies now are truth?
It’s time we all get back to the basics. What do we believe? What does it all mean?
I am what is known as a Dudeist priest. For real.

Our religion is called Dudeism. It’s a lighthearted approach to spirituality and morality inspired by the movie “The Big Lebowski.” Our branch of Dudeism has a general, albeit non-descript, belief in a higher power, creator, or source, is accompanied by a moral philosophy rooted in Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity, and well, common sense.

As a church, our goal is to act as a rug that “really ties the room together.” To assemble like minds and philosophies in order to reaffirm our personal connection to God (or source, or the universe, or whichever label you prefer) and to create a local network for our health, well-being, and safety. A church should be a sanctuary in many respects. We would like that list to be long!
Celebration
Celebrating life and creation itself seems lost these days. Let’s change that. Living intentionally and with thankfulness should be our default mode not a rare moment. So let’s party! We will be celebrating life regularly with weekly live music events, chef-prepared dinners, and Sunday jazz brunches. Good food and music are essential to a good life. For those with a desire for yet more celebration, our Private Membership Association (PMA) will house a bar, and cannabis products are legal now, so smoke ’em if you got ’em! (we provide no cannabis products). As a church-based ministry within a Private Membership Association (PMA), we have the right to choose what we put into our bodies and what to keep out of our bodies; and we decide what activities are allowed within our church.
Celebrating life also means taking care of your body, your temple…the vessel that contains your “life.” So we will host yoga classes, meditation, sound bowl (“sound bath”) sessions, drum circles, energy work classes, healthy cooking classes, a mountain bike and kayaking club, to name a few things meant to keep our bodies in health and energetic alignment.
So check out our calendar and come join us to become a vital part of raising your own vibration and that of the collective!
