“Food for us comes from our relatives, whether they have wings or fins or roots. That is how we consider food. Food has a culture. It has a history. It has a story. It has relationships.”
– Winona LaDuke
“I cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food.”
– W.C. Fields
Beyond our food-specific events, at Sanctuary we will always have healthful, high-quality, nourishing foods available.
Our farm-fresh veggies will be available in the grow room refrigerator as they are ready.

Lunch will be available between classes/events when applicable. This may include soups, salads, and sandwiches, or special dishes prepared by our resident chef Elena!
Local, wholesome ingredients are always top of the list as well as store-bought goods that are carefully vetted for the highest quality with our nature and health in mind.
Healthy cooking techniques are also a big part of our food offerings. For example, our delicious cultured rice: Culturing rice before cooking removes toxins and anti-nutrients and makes the minerals more bioavailable and increases the antioxidant values and digestibility.
Another example is our resistant-starch organic hash browns (photo below). Resistant starch is created in potatoes, rice, and pasta through cooking and cooling before re-heating to eat it. Resistant starches have much less of an effect on blood sugar, and have been shown to reduce inflammation and have anti-aging properties. We feel the process improves texture and taste, as well–a bonus! Other techniques we use are soaking and sprouting beans, which transforms them into nutrient powerhouses and renders them much easier to digest.
Prepared foods will be available also such as…
Farm Fresh Fritatta
This will be a staple at our homestyle brunches and will also be available to grab-and-go after a Sunday service or morning yoga, meditation, or sound healing session.

This hearty dish features fresh, pastured eggs and pastured pork sausage from local Laughing Earth farm in Cropseyville, organic potatoes and tomatoes, Greek feta, and our own fresh greens and edible flowers. Pan fried in a cast-iron pan and finished under the broiler! Served with dressed greens and crispy organic potato hash browns.
BEVERAGES
Careful man, there’s a beverage here!
Sanctuary at Futura Farms will offer water, coffee, or tea with every meal great or small.
Juices, wine, and drinks from the bar, are all available for an additional cash donation.
“So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.”
-Ecclesiastes 2:24
