ABOUT US

Steve & Elena

Hi! We are your resident Dudeist Priests Steve & Elena Giorgio. We created Sanctuary at Futura Farms to bring together like-minded folks in a Private Membership Association (PMA) with a strong moral core, based on spirituality that comes from a connection with our higher power. Non-duality is a way of seeing our existence as a whole and views our person-hood, our ego, our “selves” as brief, discrete expressions of this whole. This is the basis of our moral compass. It leads to the Golden Rule.

From there, we try to operate in the world with mindfulness, thankfulness, and intention. From there, we desire to organize into what is now being called a “Parallel Society” in which we can provide locally for our needs and wants and our health.

Before creating Sanctuary, Steve has been a graphic designer and a musician for many years and Elena has her own business in medical education publishing and has developed a well-rounded knowledge of nutrition and integrative and alternative medicine.

They both have a passion for creating sacred spaces that nourish the inhabitants. Steve expresses his passion through feng shui-inspired interior design. Elena expresses her passion through home building and property development: She successfully built a home on a mountaintop site that many said was “impossible” to build on, a site that overlooks the beautiful agricultural breadbasket of the Schoharie Valley. In 2015, she sold that home to Diamond Way Buddhism, who had been looking for 8 years for the perfect property for their Northeast Retreat Center. It is now Diamond Way’s Karma Dondrub Ling (Place of Accomplishment), a meditation retreat center visited by thousands of people from around the world who expand their consciousness and find peace on this sacred, breathtaking property.

Both Steve and Elena have experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry, as well. Both have certifications in sound and energy healing, and both enjoy kayaking and hiking in nearby Grafton Lakes and state forests.
